A diverse group of physicists and materials scientists have recently published convincing evidence of having obtained 10-50 micron sized mono-, bi-, and few-layer samples of optically active MoS2 on SiO2 substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The publication includes wide-ranging Raman and photo-luminescence spectroscopy measurements, along with a brief write-up of the experimental procedures, both synthetic and analytic.
